Most people in Bahrain are opposed to riding the bus and mostly prefer to drive their own automobile. So as a result now there has been an increase in traffic over the past few years which is also a cause for increasing of accidents.

Work visas are issued based on the Non-Objection Certificate (N.O.C) which is issued by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and the Residence in the Kingdom of Bahrain. To drive a car in Bahrain, there needs to have an international driving license. If there are people coming to visit an individual in Bahrain who would like to drive the car or a rental car will also need this document.
The international license is suitable for tourists but as a resident it has to be converted into local DL.  Depending on the country of origin, as soon as the CPR (Bahraini identity document) is gained international driving license can be converted into a local one without taking any driving tests. But for some countries, tests are required.
