Having the size and infrastructure of Bahrain, it is clear that public transportation's benefit has been limited. Most people in Bahrain are opposed to riding the bus and mostly prefer to drive their own automobile. Taxis have been received with mixed feelings as the issue of overcharging or meter not being used by some cab drivers still prevails to this day. So as a result now there has been an increase in traffic over the past few years which is also a cause for increasing of accidents.

It’s a shame to say that a driver in Bahrain makes so much less than a normal job salary.

Many of peoples are doing driving job in a house. As being a house driver pays lower than the companies do but has other incentives. Like some families requires a House Driver with 3 to 5 years Gulf experience and valid driving license.

Working Visas:
Work visas are issued based on the Non-Objection Certificate (N.O.C) which is issued by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and the Residence in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Now it is to be remembered that the working Visas cannot be issued without taking prior approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Driver's license needed to drive in Bahrain?
To drive a car in Bahrain, there needs to have an international driving license. If there are people coming to visit an individual in Bahrain who would like to drive the car or a rental car will also need this document.
The international license is suitable for tourists but as a resident it has to be converted into local DL.  Depending on the country of origin, as soon as the CPR (Bahraini identity document) is gained international driving license can be converted into a local one without taking any driving tests. But for some countries, tests are required.
